The main program will be held at Stanley Hall (105) on the UC Berkeley Campus. The Reception and Dinner will be held at The Faculty Club which is within walking distance from Stanley Hall. There will be reserved parking available at the Upper Hearst Parking Structure for $10. A parking attendant will be on hand to collect payment and guide you to a reserved parking space. Below please find a map of the event locations and more information about parking: Download a full page printable map of campus here.
There
is no free parking (until 6 PM) on the Berkeley streets anywhere near campus.
Everything is 2-hour or less. It's simplest to park in the structure at Hearst and Gayley Road, where the Symposium has reserved spaces for participants. An attendant will collect $10 (cash only). See the map for how to get from there to Stanley Hall. Parking on campus requires a Campus Parking permit, or the purchase of a $12 ticket. If you enter campus from Gayley Road on University Drive (opposite the Greek Theater), you'll pass a kiosk that is not staffed on Saturdays. The ticket machine is straight ahead 300 feet farther on, near the southwest corner of Evans Hall. It takes only coins and $1 and $5 bills (no credit cards). There are not a lot of campus parking spaces close to Stanley Hall. There are three handicap parking spaces to the left of that kiosk, on the west side of Tan Hall and across University Drive from Stanley Hall (see the map). They cannot be reserved. It is advisable to WALK from the Symposium to the Faculty Club. All the parking spaces near the Faculty Club (including those up past the optometry building) belong to the Faculty Club(s) after 5:30 PM, and parking there costs EIGHTEEN DOLLARS. You have to go into the Club lobby, purchase a ticket, and take it back to your car. If you have mobility limitations, please email Jeanne Miller (jmmiller@lbl.gov) for more information. |
